And it just does not come at a normal price. If you have a weakness for Jeffrey Archer novels, if you have truck loads of money and are ready to invest it in making a film then it is all yours!

Lord Jeffrey Archer the master storyteller (that is what he prefers to be called) was in town recently, rumors suggest to picking an Indian to produce a film based on his recent novel Paths of Glory. And the amount the author has in mind for making the film is around $40 million! And to a query as who would best fit his hero in the novel the storyteller had more than one choice.

When a scribe asked Lord Jeffery as to his main intention of this trip the author said he was doing a book tour but if anyone was in the movie business then he was very available. The author is also said to have quipped that since he has already done the screenplay the rest would be easier. Asked if his idea of making a novel into a story was any influence from the universally acclaimed ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ his response was a clipped “Possibly..”

Amidst all this there is also this rumor doing the rounds that Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra might be directing a Jeffery Archer film – may be this sprang up because the director was present during one of Mr. Archer’s book readings.
