Rekha will receive the award on May 30 at a function that will be held in Pune. The Chief minister of the State of Maharashtra as well as the Deputy CM will be present on the occasion.

Rekha has been selected to receive the coveted award from the Maharashtra Government Pratibha Gaurav Puraskar. Actually the ageless beauty was to receive a lifetime achievement award. Reports suggest that when Rekha was informed that she was to receive the Raj Kapoor Smriti Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar she became quite anxious because the lifetime achievement is given to people who are tasting old age.

The actress who seemed to be scared to receive an award that sounded quite ‘old’ requested the award committee to change the name of the prize. So now she will be conferred the much younger sounding Pratibha Gaurav Puraskar.

Ms. Rekha who feels that she is yet to achieve much in the film industry is said to have said that, ‘I still have a lot of unfinished work’, which made the award committee to change the name of the award that was being conferred upon her.

On the same day Aamir Khan the top star of Bollywood at the moment will receive the coveted Raj Kapoor Smriti Vishesh Gaurav Puraskar.
