Apart from being a singer par excellence, Lata Mangeshkar, is also a lady who keeps her word. Lataji will be singing for a Hindi track after a gap. Quite sometime back she was approached by Madhur Bhandarkar who requested her to lend her voice for a song in his film and Lataji had promised him that she would do so.
Now keeping up her word she will be singing a track in Madhur’s upcoming film ‘Jail’ that has Neil Nithin Mukesh playing the lead role. Reports suggest that Lataji will be crooning a song on prisoners. The song will be recorded from Andheri. When asked about the recording the queen of melodies has nodded in the affirmative.
Lataji who underwent a knee surgery for chronic arthritis from a hospital at Pune during the beginning of this year is now completely healed and back to being fit. Though she has not been singing in Bollywood lately, she has been busy singing in other languages as well as bhajans.
There is yet another reason why Lataji had nodded a yes for singing in this project, and the reason is the hero of the film Neil. Getting nostalgic about her good old days with Neil’s granddad Mukesh, the famous singer, whom lataji addresses as her brother, she happens to be the one to have suggested Mukesh da to name his grandson Neil.
So now we know from where Neil got his name!
