The Enlighten Film Society held ‘The Godfather Film Festival’ yesterday at Cinemax, Versova. Prolific director Ram Gopal Varma and noted journalist Bhawna Somaya were the distinguished guests who discussed the cult film ‘The Godfather’. The event was organised by Jimmy Mistry and Pranav Ashar, partners of the largest film society of India – Enlighten. The interactive session was well-attended by cinema students and movie buffs.

It was one of a kind interactive session wherein Ram Gopal Varma spoke about few of his movies, what lead to the making of Sarkar and why Sarkar three, for now, cannot not happen. To that Bhawna Somaya immediately added that the audience won’t be surprised if he suddenly comes up with Sarkar three. That’s Ramu for you people- quite unpredictable! The people present were enjoying the anecdotes of Mr.Varma as much as they were enjoying the direct questions asked by Ms. Somaya to the film maker.
 
Later, the young audience also posed questions to the director and certainly looked very amused and content, as they were very logically answered. At the end of the open panel discussion Ram Gopal Varma unveiled a framed poster of the classic film ‘The Godfather,’ which was met with a thunderous applause from the audience.
