Heart ailment. Ruckus created by an elephant on the sets. Had to simultaneously shoot Hindi and Tamil versions with heavyweights playing the lead. Despite all these pressures, Mani Ratnam is cool on the sets of his magnum opus Raavana.

And guess the reason? It is nothing but the regular practice of badminton, which was recommended to 'Mani sir' by doctors while he was admitted to a hospital recently after a heart complaint. "Mani sir has been regularly playing badminton whenever he gets time to kill. It gives him vim and vigour besides keeping him cool," says a source.

Meanwhile, it is said that the filmmaker had sent a prompt reply to a notice sent to him by Animal Welfare Board of India, raising questions how he used the elephant in shooting without the permission of the board.
