“Guru Sishyan is no remake of the yesteryear Rajnikanth hit of the same title. It is a tale of two friends, who get separated and later join hands to eliminate anti-socials”, says Sakthi Chidambaram, the director and producer of the film.

Sathyaraj and Sundar C come together for the film, which has music by Dheena. Adds Sakthi, “It is a laugh riot, with lots of action and fun.”

Sathyaraj had worked with Sakthi Chidambaram for several films including ‘Ennama Kannu’, ‘Englishkaran’ and ‘Maha Nadigan’ earlier. He says, “We share a wonderful compatibility. We’d teamed up to render several hits. He is one of the very few actors, who has a great comedy sense. Working again with him is a delight”.

Sundar C and Sakthi have made a movie titled ‘Sandai’. On Sundar, Sakthi says, ‘As a director, Sundar came out with hilarious entertainers and he has proved his mettle in acting too’. Vadivelu's comedy is another major highlight, he adds.
