The promotional song of ‘Wake Up Sid’ might be successfully ringing in the youngsters’ ears. But the young actor would be now cringe at the thought of its shoot. It is said that Ranbir Kapoor was not at all in favour of doing the song. For one thing, the song required him to jump and dance in a pool and the actor is said to have hydrophobia (fear of water).

 

The special video features Ranbir jiving amidst a young crowd in pool. Said to be shot in 3 days, the actor had spent the whole shooting time inside waist-up water. And by the time the song was completed, Ranbir was really vexed. But he had kept away all his fears and irritation and jumped in the song (in water as well) to give his best shot. Ranbir truly gave a very impressive performance and the result of the song is out there for all to see.

 

Both the director Ayan Mukherjee and producer Karan Johar are all-praise for Ranbir. The video, that is already flavour of the season, was made with a view to keep in-tune with the times. Ayan claimed that it is not like a regular number. “It has been shot keeping the theme of the movie in mind. It’s a slightly energetic version of the song in the movie. This song has Sid at his best at a party,” said the director.
