‘Renigunta’, directed by Lingusamy’s one time associate Panneerselvam, is ready to hit the screen with its first copy ready in hand. When producer Chakravarthy screened the first one hour of the film to the distributors, everyone was interested to buy the film. All the areas were sold just in one single day. Particularly Madurai-Ramanadhapuram, Trichy-Thanjavur, Chengalpattu areas have earned 1.6 crores.

Now a few titbits on ‘Renigunta’…

The movie was shot widely in the locales of Virudhunagar, Dindukal, Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Pondicherry, Thiruvaiyaru, Marakkanam, Thirupathi, Aadalore, Selngalpattu, Chennai, Dhanushkodi, Chinnalapatti, Madurai.

According to the director, the rain is an important character in this film. Nic Arts Chakravarthy’s son Johnny is the hero while Sanusha who did the role of Trisha’s sis in ‘Bheema’ is the heroine. Interestingly, Sanusha plays a dumb girl in this one.

To add up the spice we have, Risha shaking her hips for the song “Kadhalari Kottai”. And our Little Superstar Silambarasan has lent his voice for a song. Taking care of the film’s music is Ganesh Ragavendra, the great grandson of Veenai S Balachandar.
