The screen sizzler of South, Mumtaj is seldom seen on screen these days. The last time we saw the oomph girl was for Shakthi Chdambaram’s ‘Rajadhi Raja’.

Mumtaj was once the ultimate choice for item numbers and enjoyed fame and name with her hits like Malai Malai… and Kattipudi Katipudi… Then as item girls like Ragasya, Suja and Mumait Khan occupied her slot, Mumtaj lost her market considerably. Following this she was seen judging some TV dance shows.

Finally she decided to regain her market and followed a crash diet; slashed 15 kilos of here body weight and gave a shock to everyone! Mumtaj made a comeback in Tamil with a negative role in ‘Rajadhi Raja’; impressing her fans and enjoyed rave review. But sadly did not appear in any Tamil films after that.

What we hear now about her is that, she has entered Malayalam industry as Kalabhavan Mani's heroine! Mumtaj is not new to Malayalam as she has done a few item songs there too. Now she signed-up for an untitled film to be directed by Mohan Kupleri.
