Popular producer and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt found himself in a spot of bother after his son Rahul Bhatt landed in soup for 'befriending' Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist David Coleman Headley. Reports suggested that authorities would question him soon.
Headley was arrested for plotting series of attacks in India and investigations revealed that he had met Rahul Bhatt and that his communication through email with his colleagues had special mention of Rahul.
Speculations were rife about the name appeared in the email communication of Coleman Headley, was whether Congress leader Rahul Gandhi or film actors Rahul Bose or Rahul Khanna or stood for Shah Rukh Khan, whose favourite name for screen characters played by him once used to be ‘Rahul’.
Rahul has reportedly approached police officials quite voluntarily in this regard. It may be noted that his papa Mahesh Bhatt maintained that his son had nothing to do with the ultra. "We are very concerned about national security, and Rahul will be available to security agencies as and when they need him," said Mahesh Bhatt.
"It was Rahul who took the initiative and went to the police on his own accord," said his sister and popular actress Pooja Bhatt.
