If Celina Jaitley was honoured at Cairo Film Festival recently, another filmmaker from Bollywood Madhur Bhandarkar walked away with all applause at the same event.

In a special section called Tribute to India, five of his films were screened much to the delight of movie-buffs in Cairo.  The films included ‘Chandni Bar’, ‘Page3’, ‘Corporate’, ‘Traffic Signal’ and ‘Fashion’.

‘Chandni Bar’ was about a bar dancer, while ‘Page 3’ is about celebrity life that won three National Film Awards in 2005, including the Golden Lotus Award for Best Film. ‘Corporate’, ‘Traffic Signal’ and ‘Fashion’ too were critically-acclaimed.

Bhandarkar was present on the occasion and was heaped with laurels by one and all there.
