Love is in the air… Lovebirds are singing romantically… When everything around is rosy and fair, you just can do anything but enjoy the Cupid season. To celebrate love, this week we will be bringing you interesting titbits from our every own filmy world of love – Bollywood.
Our Hindi cinema for years has been the epitome of romance; giving ideas to the lovers new-new styles of love … Or from real couples, films getting inspired. Movies have been shown different expressions, different flavours of love stories and of course – the filmy jodis.
Yaad hai oon dino, when flowers were the only way to express love. Especially big yellow sunflowers or full bloomed rich red gulab. Show one, the heroine will just blush and lower her eyes. And one can just sit back and wait for a lovey-dovey song that will follow the scene – the hero leaning over a tree while his beloved will be two-hand distance away sitting on a rock or grass! It goes unsaid; to bring up the issue of flowers kissing and one can instantly relate what it means… Or remember, when dream sequences were the in-thing then… however serious or plain looking film it might be, filmmakers would be spending lavishly over the background settings of these dreamy songs. All glittering and smoky, colourful and bright! Then, dreams were left to be just dreams…
Ha… those were the films… Today, everything is fast and short. No spaces in between the leading pair, no flowers, no imaginative dreams…
