Sonam - The Bird Saviour

IndiaGlitz [Friday, March 12, 2010]

Sonam Kapoor recently showed out her big heart especially towards winged beings. It is said that this beauty in concern to birds, has sent a request letter to Home Minister RR Patil. She said to have requested him to ban the use of manjha in the state.

Here we have few extracts of her letter: "As a way to help protect both human and animal lives, I humbly request your support for the recent ban on manjha in Mumbai as well as your immediate action to extend the ban throughout Maharashtra."

Not only birds, the actress was quite disheartened to hear stories of people who died when they came across these glass-coated manjhas during kite flying seasons. "The use of manjha may be a source of entertainment for some, but for many families - human and bird - who lose their loved ones, it is a tragedy," pointed out Sonam.

Sonam, who shared few scenes with pigeons in Delhi-6, truly knows how to take care of her co-stars' friends...
