'Bodyguard' managed good collections for itself right through it's first week and has now emerged as a bona fide blockbuster success. As predicted last week, the film has collected over 110 crores in its extended first week, hence silencing detractors who were expecting a crash after the fantabulous start that the film had gained.
While it is now a known fact that Salman is enjoying a purple phase for him, let's pause and reflect on how his future projects look like. If one looks at it closely, most of the films that he has in pipeline are with friends and family members. 'Dabangg 2' is with Arbaaz Khan, 'Sher Khan' is with Sohail Khan and 'Kick' is with Sajid Nadiadwala. Rest assured, he would be enjoying a healthy outing once he steps into these projects next year. The only 'outside' film that he is doing is 'Ek Tha Tiger' with Yash Raj Films, the shooting of which has begun.
With the kind of success that he as well as Katrina Kaif have been enjoying of late, expectations would be humungous from 'Ek Tha Tiger' as well. With 100 crores plus pretty much becoming a benchmark for Salman Khan after 'Dabangg', 'Ready' and 'Bodyguard', one can be quite positive of 'Ek Tha Tiger' to roar of a 150 crores plus total as well. Meanwhile Kareena Kapoor too can be seen smiling from ear to ear since immediately after 'Bodyguard' she is now moving on to 'Ra. One' which has in it to top the 200 crores mark, hence giving her yet another double century after '3 Idiots'.
The makers of 'Bol' and 'That Girl In Yello Boots' would have been content with just 10% of this mark though if they had their way. Reason being that currently both films are struggling to reach even 1% of such collections, what with both the films ending their first week at a mere 1.5 crores each. With hardly any theatres playing these offbeat films in the second week and 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' occupying a very good number of screens, there is no chance whatsoever for them to see resurgence of any sorts.
