Dibakar Banerjee's political thriller 'Shanghai' boasts about coming together of distinct actors on same reel. The star cast includes Abhay Deol, Emraan Hashmi, Kalki Koechlin, Farooque Shaikh and Supriya Pathak. Interestingly Bengal screen legend and National award winner Prosenjit makes his long awaited Bollywood comeback in this one.

As befitting the lightning paced nature of the film itself, 'Shanghai' said to have been completed in just 42 days. The film was shot mainly in Latur and Baramati.

As reported earlier, 'Shanghai' is releasing on 26th of January i.e. Republic Day of 2012, an apt day for the release of this roller coaster expose of big money politics and how the common man gets his revenge back!

The freezing of the release date also means that Dibakar and his team have less than six months to bring the film to its completed form and then embark on a marketing campaign to build interest in the film among audiences.
