Paoli Dam is turning out to be one feisty young personality. Though it is understandable that she can't be coy, especially since her Bollywood debut is being marked as the most erotic thriller ever made in the country, her strength seems to be the fact that nothing about her is seemingly made up or fake. An award winning actress who has traveled foreign shores too for her solid performances earlier on, she is ready to share some 'gyaan' about on-screen lovemaking and how being bold comes with different connotations for different people.
"As long as we actors treat ourselves as thorough professionals, I guess things would be fine regardless of the kind of character we are portraying on screen", declares Paoli who would be making her debut with Vivek Agnohotri directed 'Hate Story', "People do ask me whether I was comfortable in my erotic scenes with Gulshan (Deviah). In fact a few even asked if both of us had any 'conversation' before opening up in front of the camera. Par sach mein aisa kuch hota nahi hai. There wasn't anything like having an extra talk or anything. It's a wrong notion that lovemaking scenes lead to discomfort."
Even though Paoli and Gulshan had never acted before, they did interact before the film went on floors. However if both the actors are to be believed, they talked about everything under the sun, whether it was related to 'Hate Story' or not, but never really felt the need to bring in the topic of 'how to be natural in front of camera' during the conversation.
"He is also a very good performer and also extremely professional. The fact is that just like either you can act or you cannot, similarly either you are bold or you are not", Paoli says with the tone of a seasoned actress, "Apna mental preparation aapko khuda karna hota hai. You don't rely on the instincts of other person to work out your act."
A Vikram Bhatt production which is directed by Vivek Agnihotri, 'Hate Story' releases all over next Friday.
