Would 'Teri Meri Kahaani' be a landmark film for Shahid?

IndiaGlitz [Saturday, June 02, 2012]

Kunal Kohli is brimming with high confidence and carrying good hopes. With the promos and songs of 'Teri Meri Kahaani' fetching good response, the filmmaker feels that credit must also go to the crackling chemistry on display between Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. He also attributes the attention that his film is getting to the fact that Shahid is getting into an altogether different mode of the film, something that is helping 'Teri Meri Kahaani' fetch good eyeballs.

"Shahid is playing three different roles in the film across eras and that is something that he has never done before", says Kunal, "He is playing a strong Muslim character Javed which is a first for him. Then he has never enacted a cool trendy character from the current era in a manner as shown in the film. And then obviously getting into a 60s mode is not something that many actors of today's generation can boast of. All of this brings uniqueness to the film because whenever Shahid has done something different, it has been grabbed by the audience with both hands."

He is referring to films like 'Vivah', 'Jab We Met' and 'Kaminey', each of which is considered as a landmark film in Shahid's career. Enacting such roles for the first time ever, Shahid won audience's hearts that also showed in the box office performance of these films.

"Mark my words, the trend would continue with 'Teri Meri Kahaani' as well", says Kunal.

Also starring Neha Sharma and Prachi Desai in principal roles, 'Teri Meri Kahaani' with music by Sajid-Wajid releases all over on 22nd June.
