Priyanka Chopra recently suffered a debacle with 'Teri Meri Kahaani' that has sunk without a trace. However blessing in disguise has turned out to be the promo of 'Barfii' which has just been unveiled.

If the initial reactions to the Anurag Basu directed film is any indication, Priyanka would finally have a winner in hands where she has an author backed role.
 
"Yes, she has an author backed role in the film and it is expected that from performance perspective she would come up trumps.

However delivering against the requirement of difficult roles isn't something that has troubled Priyanka. After all she has done well in '7 Khoon Maaf' as well.

What she needs is a huge box office hit where she really has a part to play and also helps her consolidate as a popular actress", says a trade source.
 
He could well be referring to the likes of '7 Khoon Maaf' and 'What's Your Raashee?' which didn't quite succeed even though Priyanka had an author backed role. Meanwhile the other film that Priyanka is currently engaged in is the 'Zanjeer' remake.

However taking into consideration the fact that Jaya Bhaduri hardly had a role to play in the original Amitabh Bachchan starrer, Priyanka could well be hoping for 'Barfii' to bring her back in the reckoning.
 
"Of course she has consolidated her place as a popular actress with huge hits like 'Agneepath' and 'Don 2'.

However Priyanka needs a huge box office hit where she really has a part to play. Her 'Krrish 3' should ensure her a much needed big blockbuster as well but then the film is not arriving before Diwali or Christmas 2013.

If there is one film in the interim period which is really crucial for her, it is 'Barfii'", the source adds.
