Sanjay Gupta's much anticipated project 'Shootout At Wadala' has shifted its release date from this December to 1st May 2013 for various reasons.
 
The new change seems to have better benefits for the makers - since 1st May is Labour Day as well as International Workers' Day - which will help to generate more collections over a five-day weekend.

Second, the crime thriller is real-life adaptation of Mumbai police's first registered gun battle with gangster Manya Surve, coincidentally a Maharashtrian who comes from a working, middle-class background.
 
In a media interview, producer Ekta Kapoor stated that she was really blown away after watching the rushes of 'Shootout At Wadala' recently.

Calling it a very engaging and powerful film, she went on saying, "With its content and massive star cast, topped by the kind of marketing push that the Balaji team will give, we need a long weekend for the film.

It is a supreme mass entertainer and we will hype it to the hilt...
 
Co-produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and White Feather Films, the film features Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Mahesh Manjrekar, Tusshar Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Sonu Sood and Kangana Ranaut.
