Vidya Balan, Chitrangada Singh, Rani Mukherji and now its turn of Asin... The south-imported talented beauty is the next to join the Maharashtrian bandwagon.
The 'Ghajini' famed actress dons the character of a Marathi pori in the forthcoming Akshay Kumar starrer 'Khiladi 786'.
It is interesting to note that Asin, a Malayalee origin, earned remarkable niche in the Tamil and Telugu film industry, then gradually worked her way into the big glittering world of Bollywood and making an impression in Hindi cinema and latest she has learned and prepared herself well to play a Maharashtrian girl.
Phew such a true Indian (having to get to know so many languages)! Not only that, she is also knows Sanskrit and French!!
Coming back to 'Khiladi 786'... Asin, who plays a typical Maharashtrian girl in the movie, thanks her co-star Akki for preparing her for the role. In an interview she said that Akshay helped her a lot in the learning process since he is very fluent in speaking Marathi.
"This is the first time I am playing such a character, an out-and-out Maharashtrian girl called Indu Tendulkar. So, it was a lot of fun.
I went all out for the character and hopefully it will have a good response," said the bubbly beauty who is keeping her fingers-crossed for a hat-trick. While 'Housefull 2' and 'Bol Bachchan' set the cash ringing at the box office, Asin hopes that 'Khiladi 786' repeats the success story as well.
Helmed by Ashish R. Mohan, 'Khiladi 786' is slated to release on 7th Dec 2012.
