Did you know that the well acclaimed and melodious hit '1942: A Love Story' initially had different choice of leading lady? If no, then read on to find out who...

Actually instead of Manisha Koirala, the makers of the 1994-released film had the "Dhak Dhak" beauty Madhuri Dixit signed in for the female lead's role. However, the actress later opted out of the project and Manisha was replaced for her part.

This long-forgotten episode was recently recalled by the film's lyricist Javed Akhtar at an event. In an interview there, he went on to reveal that in fact the popular song "Ek Ladki Ko Dekha..." was written by him, keeping Madhuri in mind.

Hmmmm going by the charming looks and beautiful smile of  Madhuri, we feel that the song would have been really apt for her... What say??
