Vidhu Vinod Chopra to make film on Kashmiris

Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who is currently busy with his debut Hollywood project 'Broken Horses', apparently will be making a film on the Kashmir Pundits' community next.

Recently the producer-director-writer had graced the book launch of author Rahul Pandita's latest work 'Our Moon has blood clots', where he shared his plans.

At the launch itself Vidhu Vinod Chopra showed interest in making this book into a film. He said, "I want to tell Rahul that books are read by many and films are watched by too many. So I would like to tell him to make this into a story and screenplay for a film and I would love to make myself."

'Our Moon has blood clots: The Exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits ' revolves around the Kashmir Pundits Community, how they were tortured by Islamist militants and finally were forced to leave the country. The book in fact is about the author's personal experience, who hails from Kashmir.

Sharing details about his book Rahul Pandita said, "This is not just my story. Since the book has come out I have met a lot of people who have come up to me to tell me that this is exactly their story. It feels great that they see the connect with the book."

Also present at the event was Vir Chopra, brother of Vinod Chopra, he too shared some experiences that his family faced in Kashmir during the 90s.
