This may sound bad news to fans of Akshay Kumar but unfortunately Anees Bazmee is making the sequel of the 2007's hit comedy caper 'Welcome' without the Khiladi. But on other happy note, the handsome John Abraham is stepping into the hero's role...

Due to certain circumstances, the makers of 'Welcome 2' couldn't bring Akki on board and instead had to replace him with John. Confirming about the development producer Firoz Nadiadwala said to sources, "It is difficult to envisage Welcome 2 without Akshay, but he is definitely not doing it."

John will be paired opposite Katrina Kaif, who played the female lead in the earlier. 'Welcome 2', the title of the film as of now, is expected to go on floors soon, this year. The other cast and crew are yet to be finalised.

The prequel also featured Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal, Mallika Sherawat and late Feroz Khan in pivotal roles. The film was not only won hearts with its hilarious script but also for its wonderful musical tracks.
