An ardent supporter of good cinema, Kiran Rao now wants to take her passion a step forward. The 'Dhobi Ghat' and 'Talaash' famed filmmaker is all set to divert her energies to bring out hidden talents. Having an eclectic taste in cinema, the director-producer is keen to support new talent and present films that a good quality content.
When called for a casual screening of a film Kiran found the film to be stunning and came off thinking that films like this need to be promoted and nurtured. And thus 'Kiran Rao' production house was born...
Under this banner she would be presenting films that are important and deserve to get a wider platform for their release.
According to our sources, the purpose of this production company is not to let good independent cinema remain in the confines of anonymity and finding a relatively wider release.
Bringing her debut venture, Kiran Rao would present her first film 'Ship of Thesus', this July. Known to be a very talented director, Anand Gandhi will be making his debut with this film.
When contacted Kiran confirms the news and refuses to divulge more information.
