The controversy over "Girlfriend", a Bollywood take on alternate sexuality, is not making headlines just in India but also abroad.

Apparently international gay and lesbian websites have been discussing the film. And actor Aashish Choudhry who stars in it is thrilled about the hype.

"When we made the film we did expect some controversy, but not of this magnitude. But I'm not complaining. I think the movie is a big hit and I can safely say my first major big hit," Aashish told IANS.

Isha Koppikar, who stars as a lesbian in the film, has said she was not aware of the lesbian theme initially when director Karan Razdan read the script to her.

"It was only later that I realized that the lesbian angle was in the movie. But the way he described the story to me, I just could not say no to him," Isha told IANS.
