UTV, which is well-known for its innovative strategies in marketing, came up with something interesting as usual.  It was a fun-filled twenty over cricket match with FedEx. FedEx, incidentally, is associated with the film Hat trick and it has a promotional tie up with the film for this purpose.

It was a day abuzz with activity at Khar Gymkhana stadium on 25 February. Actors Nana Patekar, Kunal Kapoor and Rimii Sen, who form the main cast of the film, were present at the event. With Syed Kirmani and the stars, Mini Mathur was seen anchoring the event with infectious energy, and the popular commentator Gautam Bhimani was at his best as usual. The trailer of Hat trick was screened on the field before the match started. Soon after this, there was a run-up of songs from the film.

Nana Patekar, the ace actor, was the opening batsman of the match. He is himself a great fan of the sport. FedEx was the fielding team. Nana’s son Malhar Patekar, was seen cheering his dad. Soon, Kunal Kapoor walked in as the batsman and he started with a warm-up on the field as the spectators were enthralled with his sheer presence. Rimii, on the other hand, did not take the plunge but rather chose to be in the pavilion, cheering the players. With such teams, it was truly an invigorating day. What’s more, there were more than five hundred people cheering with undiluted vigor for their favorite celebs!

Hat trick, the film, is directed by Milan Luthria and it has Paresh Rawal and Danny Denzongpa in the cast too. The film is scheduled for a March 16 release.
