Britney looking forward to India concert

    [Interview by Hindol Sengupta]
    Monday, December 20, 2004
International pop idol Britney Spears has said she is looking forward to having a big concert in India, a country she loves for its wonderful people and food.

"India is a place that''s full of culture and very interesting people," Spears told IANS in an exclusive e-mail interview. "The food is also delicious."
She said she "would love to" have a show in India though there are no concrete plans yet.
The pop star who has just released her top hits' collection, "My Prerogative", said the album came because "the producers felt that I had enough hits for a greatest hits album. I agree".
A teen sensation who once famously flaunted her virginity and then metamorphosed into a sex goddess, Spears has changed many avatars in her career.
The 17-year-old child sensation of MTV in 1999 has turned into a mesmerising, much hated and much loved icon of our age - still insisting that all her different facades are creations not of her PR team but of the media.
"I see myself as just someone who loves performing and loves singing. The rest of these labels have been forced on me by the media," said Spears, whose mother Lynne has said the video of "My Prerogative" has "an element of old Hollywood glamour and mystery".
In a letter on her website, Spears has said that she is looking to take a break and have kids. "I've had a career since I was 16, have travelled around the world and back and even kissed Madonna!
"The only thing I haven't done so far is experience the closest thing to god and that's having a baby. I can't wait! I thought I would never say this but I love not working so much."
She told IANS that her marriage with dancer Kevin Federline has been fantastic. "Married life is bliss. It has been a very stabling influence in my life."
And about her infamous matrimonial faux pas, when she married school friend Jason Alexander for just about two days, she had just this to say: "Everyone makes mistakes."
The chart busting artiste also declined to comment on her involvement with Kabbalah, the ancient Hebrew faith which Madonna introduced her to, but said Madonna was her great inspiration.
"Madonna is an amazing artiste and I admire the way she has charted her career, she is definitely a role model."
