What's drawn you to movies? I have been drawn to movies by the challenges posed by acting. I really enjoy getting under the skin of the character and "becoming" other people!! You’re in Chupke Chupke with Shahid and Kareena. What’s the role like?I’m paired opposite Shahid in CHUPKE CHUPKE.It is a love triangle between Shahid, Kareena and me. I am the surprise element in the film! What was it like working with Shahid and Kareena? Was Kareena really as possessive about him as she was being made out to be?Most of my scenes were with Shahid, and he is a thorough gentleman, and a great co star. Kareena was very down to earth, and a good co star. Tell us about the Mahesh Manjrekar film based on the lives of mill workers? What role are you playing in it, and how did you get the role?Mahesh sir approached me for it, and I was thrilled!!! I’m really excited about the film. It is a menacing, dark humored script in the tradition of his gangster movies. It tackles the underbelly of the mill tussles in Mumbai. There are two families in the film, and I play a pivotal role in one of them. Any special preparation for the role? I am getting mentally ready for it. I am sure some informal workshops for it will start soon. What is your dream role? Amongst the movies that went by in 2005, which female lead role from Hindi movies do you wish you had got to play?My dream role is an epic, along the lines of Jhansi Ki Rani. I would have loved to play Rani's role in Black. Where do you see yourself five years from now?Five years from now? Directing!!!! |
