You must be on cloud nine as you are getting so much love and affection from audiences and are able to give hits one after another...
There is nothing like to be on cloud nine, it's the God's grace and love of peoples that I have reach this position. They liked the songs I have sung and make them hits, I'm very happy that I'm able to entertain them with songs of their likes.
Tell us something about your latest album.
My new album is 'Is Dil Se – love never dies' that is released by T-Series. It has eight songs penned by Sameer and are based on romantic story. This album is the first ever in the history of Indian Music Industry to have eight tracks of different mood and situations. The album has got the subject on Romantic Story. The best part of the album is the choice of original songs handpicked and compiled by me that belongs to varied genres and this is the one specialty of this album which makes it different from regular pop albums.
Is there any specific reason behind the title 'Is Dil Se – love never dies' or want to re-create the 'Dil Se' magic once again?
Whenever I get involved in any project I always try to put 100% efforts with lots of dedication and hardwork. There is nothing like specific reason behind the title but a simple fact. The album is based on romantic story and to generate romantic feelings one must have a heart. Without heart the feelings of love or romance can't be happen because it's heart that generates these kinds of feelings or attraction for someone.
Few days back you were awarded with Bollywood Music Award at foreign soil, tell something.
Omkara's music was unique and fresh one, keeping in mind the script we have to create music accordingly and I'm very happy that the results are far better than what we expected before creating music of 'Omkara'. You all know about its extraordinary success, the 'title song', 'Beedi Jalaile' & 'Namak Ishq ka' gets overwhelming response from the audiences. Getting this award at foreign soil is a proud feeling and I'm feeling good & pleased after bagging this award.
Till now you have sung lots of superhit songs but other can't make it to achieve the success of 'Chaiyya-Chaiyya' though they went on to claim the superduper hit tag. What you say?
In our industry, music plays a vital role. Every year almost hundreds of films have been made for which we needs lakhs of songs but each and every song cannot become superduper hits. I think there should not be any comparision between the songs because every song has its own style and rhythm. If we go through the records in recent past we found that last year along with many others Himesh Reshammiya has composed almost 30-40 hits and they all went superhits but in between the song 'Kajrare-Kajrare' was also happen and went on to make history in India and abroad as well though all the songs are superduperhits and still they are part of each and every party or any other occation. Like this whether it's 'Chaiyya-Chaiyya', or 'Hai-Hai Mirchi', 'Omkara' or any other song it is not necessary that all the songs creates the same magic again and again.
At the time of 'Dil Se' you and A.R. Rehman have received great reviews but after that both of you didn't work together again. Why?
This is not true that we didn't work together after 'Dil Se'. It was Rahman's encouragement that played a bigger part in my success. There is no need to go far back recently we did work together in Oscar nominated 'Water', play written by Shekhar Kapoor and produced & directed by Andrew Loyed entitled 'Bombay Dreams' & Hollywood project 'Inside Man'.
Today music of various genres like remix, hip-hop, rock and others are present in the market but they didn't sound great like what we have earlier. In the past it was great and awesome whereas today's music is nothing more than noisy and harmful to o
Here the fact 'Old is gold' comes alive. Old music is like a wine which tastes great as it grows older. As the time changed the choice of audience has been changed as well today they follow the western culture and due to that today they like lots of remix, hip-hop, rocking, jazz music and fast peppy songs. Our music is great it is neither noisy nor it can be harmful. Like always there is various genres of music is available in market for every age group all we need is to spend the time to search for music of our choice.
There are lots of talent shows are on air and so many fresh talents are coming to music industry, how much successful are these contestants and talent shows?
Talent hunts are great concept but everthing should be done in limit because when someone crosses the limit it generates difficulties. We have lots of talents in every field whether it is for games, acting, music or anyother field we are not short of talents but what these talents need is the suitable platform and atmosphere to showcase their skills and these talent hunt competitions are perfect example for these. One more thing, some contestants have feeling that winning these talent hunt are enough for them to achieve the success at high level but that's not true because when to reaches the higher level, the expections also high. Only those who puts cent percent efforts, dedication and hardwork always achieves the success.
What are your future assignments and plans?
Right now waiting for the responce of listeners towards this album, the music of 'Omkara, Rehguzar' and 'Apna Sapna Money Money' are doing well. There are lots of project in pipeline in these the music of 'Kaafila' and 'Ek Dastak' will be released in near future.
