Our own Dilli Di Kudi Akriti Kakkar is spreading fragrance of music in Mumbai

    Tuesday, April 03, 2007
Flower starts giving aroma at its tender age as bud. Same as this Akriti Kakkar a melodious voice started singing at the age of 5 and performed on stage at her early age. These days one can hear her voice daily on FM as she sung songs like “Annan Fannan” for Namaste London and “Shaka Laka Boom Boom” for Shaka Laka Boom Boom with her beautiful voice. She was recently in capital; here is the synopsis of a chat with her.

Say some thing about your songs which are pounding entire FM these days?

Well, one is a romantic no. Annan Fannan Ye Kya Hua in Namaste London which is pictured on Katrina Kaif and another song is title song of film Shaka Laka Boom Boom and another song Dil Lagayenge in the same movie. Title song with Hemesh Reshamiya and listeners liked them a lot.

Apart from Hemesh Reshamiya you have worked with other Music Directors, how was your experience with them?

I sang songs in films like Chup Chup Ke, Namaste London, Road, Shaka Laka Boom Boom etc. I really like to sing for Hemesh Reshmiya, he is a very good music director and has his own listeners in Film Industry.

As you said, you have got attracted towards music at a tender age? Can you tell us some thing about this?

It was my mother who inspired me & she is my first Guru. I started my musical journey from my home only after that I went to Shri Vyomakesh Banerjee for further training in music.

You’ve been winner of Sa Re Ga Ma National Talent Hunt?

Yes, in the year 1999 I was the winner in Sa Re Ga Ma National Talent Hunt (Junior) presented by Zee TV and also I was a part of Music Directors Kalyan Ji Anand Ji’s troop “Little Wonder” later it was called “Little Stars”. I worked for more than 50 shows with this troop while a world tour.

Tell us about your Music Albums? Is there any new project in pipeline?

Well, there is an album “Boby Doll-2” in which I sang a remix. This all bum was appreciated by audience and well as listeners especially the song Rangeela Re because this video was pictured on Deepal Sha. I worked for another album called “Eighteen”. These two albums were released by Music Company Sa Re Ga Ma. I am working for an album; it is based on Indian Folk Music. Audiences are definitely going to swing on these tunes.

How you got an opportunity as a playback singer in Bollywood? Is there any upcoming release of you?

My first song as playback singer was Cham Se Aajaye in the movie ‘Dus’ which was pictured on Shilpa Shetti after that Dil Vich Lagiyave in ‘Chup Chup Ke’ with Sonu Nigam and Hemesh Reshamiya. This was also appreciated by listeners and I am singing in Subhash Ghai’s forthcoming movie “Good Boy Bad Boy”.

In Bollywood which singers you admire a lot?

I admire Asha Bhonsle and Sonu Nigam a lot, because they are the singers who really fit their voice with such an ease in any type of song. It could be a classical no. or it could be a Bhajan, Romantic song. Any thing it could be.

As you are so pretty, is there any plane for acting in movies?

Replied with a smile… No, I am concentrating on my singing only and I want to establish my self as good singer. I would like to perform only in my album videos. But generally I get offers for acting than that of singing.
