A Chit Chat with Hemant Chaddha

    Wednesday, June 11, 2008
Hemant Chaddha needs no introduction for the viewers of Television.
He might have got rid of his long hair, but then for the guy who says that positive attitude is his success mantra, growing his hair long was just part of a passing phase.

The loss of his long tresses has not even taken away a bit of the charm of this tall and handsome hunk.

The actor, who established himself in the showbiz with good roles in some of the most popular serials, speaks about himself and future aspirations in this interview.

When did you get fascinated and got attracted to the world of showbiz?

I got the best male model prize in Jaipur. That sparked off a desire in me and I felt confident that I am suitable for the showbiz industry.

Do you think that models can succeed as actors too?

It entirely depends on the attitude of that person as modeling is completely different from action. But if you are very much dedicated to the profession you have selected, then success automatically follows.

    Which was your first serial?

My first serial was "Aap Beeti". There were thirty stories in total in that serial and I was quite fortunate to perform different roles and also to work with the BR camp.

How do you feel on being addressed as the chocolate boy of the industry?

I don't have complaints about my looks or about what people have to say about it, but I am fully confident that I can do full justice to negative roles too.

Why did you chop off your hair and adopted a new look?

Growing long hair was necessary for my role as a musician in a band in the serial "Ambar Dhara". Now I am back to my original self.

What are the preparations you make before accepting a role?

I make a character analysis of the role that is offered to me as I am very particular about the kind of roles that I do. I also try to relate it to my self and try to do the best as I would do in my real life.

Have you worked in any Balaji serial?

Yes I have. The role of Samay Basu in the serial "Kasuati" was quite interesting.

Do you have preferences as far as roles as concerned?

I can play any type of role that satisfies me. But most people offer and want me to play positive roles due to my personality and my positive attitude in life and I do not have hang-ups about roles.

    What about roles in Bollywood?

In the film 'Jaane Hoga Kya' directed by Glen-Ankush, I played the role of Bipasha's brother. In fact I do not run behind roles. Whatever comes my way I considerate it. Moreover the Television industry is rapidly growing.

What are your most memorable performances?

My roles in 'Ambar Dhara' and 'Kamini Damini'.

Have you played any negative roles?

In Hema Malini's popular serial 'Kamini Damini', I played the negative role of Roshan Chaudhuri opposite Damini which was enacted by Moon Moon sen. For the sake of my love I am prepared to commit any crime which is the most interesting part of my character.

    Your happiest moment in life?

That happened when I was declared the best male model in Jaipur.
