Sundar C is back with a romcom special, much like his earlier movies this is also touted to be an out and out entertainer. This time they have roped in the promising Youngster Sathya to croon the music. The film stars Siddharth, Hansika and Santhanam in the lead roles. Lyrics is by Pa.Vijay.
Azhagendral Listen here
Singers: C. Sathya, Ranina Reddy
Tamil Cinema's heroes are always so romeostastic. They fall in love and immediately they portray their puppy love with some crème la dreamy poetry. This song is one such number with some chorus singing in the background to match the scoring. A mild electronic beat plays spoilsport by camouflaging the singing itself. However the female segment is a delight indeed. Pa.Vijay is quick to showcase the fantasy world of modern age Romeo.
Kozhu Kozhu Listen here
Singers: Priya Hemesh, Vijay Prakash
Well, ask anyone who is the bubbliest actress in K-Town and hands down the answer is Hansika Motwani. The lyrics of the song flow away right with the intention of heroine worship, then changes track to a clean duet. Yet another song where the recursive beat shadows the singing and hardly the lyrics are audible. Nevertheless a viable song that counts a lot on the usual masala elements, jovial and the kind you would hear with a grin now and then.
Melliya Saaral Listen here
Singers: Harish Iyer, Yazhin
Harish Iyer is one of Kollywood's melody King and he proves it here no doubt. Lyrics are suggestive of a hero melting in love. Up to a minute and half you think this is an out and out melody number and all of sudden it breaks into a pop number with a recursive electronic clap in the background. A song which could have been lengthier leaves without making a mark to the fullest extent.
Lovukku Yes Listen here
Singers: Dr. Narayanan, Ranjit, Sharmila
The trio of Ranjith, Sharmila and Narayanan take turns to show their mettle. A lot of electronic percussions consume this song to a level, where it loses its fizz in the middle and then recuperates back. The track is more about a celebration of love's acceptance with the visuals promising a slow kuthu number that breaks free with a lot of chorus. The duo of Ranjith and Sharmila though a charming bet does not seem to click to the level expected. However the song altogether is a fair attempt.
Thiruttu Pasanga Listen here
Singers: Dr. Narayana, Ranina Reddy, Saindhavi
A song full and completely about the rabble-rousing guys comically carved with the lyrics segment. The female consolation in the form of Saindhivi doesn't click for one moment and the sudden variation of Carnatic reggae is novel attempt no doubt, but messes up the genre. The song is faintly reminiscent of so many songs put together.
Enna Pesa Listen here
Easily the pick of the lot, with Sathya's soft corner for melody numbers doing the bit. Haricharan's perennial vocal chords echo into our ears with a mellow orchestration that settles comfortably. Possibly the lost in love concept again, with the boyish charms working out well for the hero, the cadence unscathed in this song. Sathya's best for sure.
All in all, an album with lot of typical Sundar C elements!
