 Light hearted entertainers have dominated most of 2005 and Mahesh Manjrekar's 'Vaah ! Life Ho To Aisi' promises to take the trend further. Starring Shahid Kapoor in the lead role with Sanjay Dutt making a dynamic appearance as a suited-booted YAMRAJ, VLHTA has Amrita Rao opposite Shahid with song'n'dance routine handled by Himesh Reshammiya and Sameer.
1) Teri Yaad Yaad (Original and Love Mix) [K.K, Jayesh Gandhi]
Tempo builds up in a gradual fashion for 'Teri Yaad Yaad' that comes in an original and a remix version. A thumping number with a foot tapping rhythm, it has Reshammiya delivering what he is best at once again! A dance floor number, the song has a very Firoz Khan kind of music to it that is enhanced due to semi-sufi, semi-western treatment. Both K.K. and Jayesh Ganshi are in spirits while crooning this lively track that is catchy and is pretty likeable.
2) Pyar Mein Tere (Original and Club Mix) [Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal]
Sonu Nigam gets completely 'madhosh' with 'Pyar Mein Tere', a laidback yet interesting rendition by him that again has a middle-east feel to it. A love song in which Shreya Ghoshal makes an appearance after a considerable delay, it belongs to the category of time pass songs that do not go an extra distance but still aren't shunned by the listener completely. An above average song that also appears in a remix version, it works mainly due to Sonu Nigam's trusted vocals.
3) Chahenge Tumhe [Udit Narayan, Shreya Ghoshal]
 Get into the 'Tere Naam' mode with 'Chahenge Tumhe' that makes for a perfect number to be shot in lush green gardens. A sugar coated melodious number by Udit Narayan and Shreya Ghoshal; it is a true blue Reshammiya number with his stamp all over the place. People who don't like to hear conventional melodies may look the other way while it is played but for the majority who still spend their days and nights hearing typical Bollywood love songs would not mind hearing such a track all over again!
4) Koi Aap Jaisa [Madhushree, Kunal Ganjawala, Jayesh Gandhi]
A children's song 'Koi Aap Jaisa' comes up next that is about sharing the joys and sorrows of the life together. The number has a feel good factor associated with it and is primarily sung by Kunal and Madhushree with Jayesh just doing the background crooning at places. A fast paced situational number; it has a lively chorus and should be fun on screen provided it is presented well on screen.
5) Dil Ke Maare [Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik]
Just like 'Chahenge Tumhe', 'Dil Ke Maare' too is a conventional love song that works just about fine as a part of the album. Experienced vocals of Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik help as always and some melodious music by Reshammiya makes the song quite listenable. No, it is not your super-hit song before the year ends but then not all songs in a single album are expected to be big hits. Hear it, enjoy it and don't worry too much about the retention power of the song in the charts.
6) Hanuman Chalisa [Shankar Mahadevan, Ajay]
After the motion picture 'Hanuman', Bollywood sees yet another track dedicated to the might of Hanuman in 'Hanuman Chalisa that is sung with aplomb by Shankar Mahadevan and Ajay. The track should make a great impression as a background piece in the movie's narrative due to a grand orchestra and some really impressive chorus in the background. Shankar and Ajay are equally competent while crooning this devotional number that would be easily identifiable by most.
Music of VLHTA may not have the best of Reshammiya's score but overall makes for a decent hear. Tunes do have a heard-before feel that can still be given a few hearings before you look forward to the next album by Reshammiya.
