Isn't this something that you must have heard from your best friend at some point of time in your young days? Love, an eternal feeling that rules the world, is something that could be simple for some but yet so complex for others! And for some, it is something that would turn out to be true, no matter the complexity of the situation. Director Dharmesh Darshan tales the viewers through the story of 5 such individuals who are set out to find true love for themselves, only to be involved in the games that destiny had to play, the situations that drove an entire show and their feelings that faced a question when they came so near to their destination!
All this and more just for the one they loved...and wanted to say....aap ki khatir!!
Danny [Dino Morea] was a handsome man who could easily be termed as a womanizer due to the charm he exuded whenever he came in contact with females! Super confident, cool and a man for all seasons, Danny was once in a relationship with beautiful Anu [Priyanka Chopra]. Anu, a young London based NRI girl who had simple dreams with a desire for the only individual that mattered in her life - Danny!
Their breakup was indeed heartbreaking, at least for Anu, but she was not the one who wanted to let her love go away. She knew that she would get it back one day, and for that she wanted to make one last attempt before giving up!
The occasion is the marriage of her stepsister Shirani [Amisha Patel] in the city of Mumbai where she flies off pronto to work upon the course of her life. Shirani was herself a spirited young girl who was getting readied to tie the knot with Kunal Shah [Suneil Shetty], a suave businessman and a much mannered man with etiquettes to die for! No wonder Shirani was flying high. Positive and looking forward in life, she was dreaming for a great life ahead!
 So what if even she was involved with Danny at some point in her life and had broken up subsequently!
Amongst these two men and two women where does Aman [Akshaye Khanna] fit in?
He is a charming'n'witty young man who finds himself in the middle of all this action! How? Well, he becomes an escort partner of Anu who tags him along in Mumbai to attend the wedding and project himself as her partner-in-arms.
Her modus operandi? Make Danny feel jealous and fall in love with her since he too was attending the wedding as Kunal's best friend! Aman being her colleague and friend readily agrees to help her cause. But is he selfless in his approach? Or he too has an agenda of his own?
As Anu and Aman start spending time with each other, a bond develops between the two! Whether it is friendship, fondness, caring or something more.........?
Other characters who play an important role in this story of love, emotions, sacrifices, secrets and desires are playful'n'jolly Nikki [Bhumika Singh], cousin of Anu and Shirani and their guardians Arjun and Betty Khanna [Anupam Kher, Lillette Dubey], an epitome of a perfect couple!
A feel good outing that looks at the age old saying of ""If you love someone, let it free. If it is yours it will come back to you. If it doesn't, it wasn't yours anyway" and presents a perspective of its own, 'Aap Ki Khatir' takes a viewer through a journey of five men and women who eventually realize the value of true love and the means to achieve it!
A VENUS film with music by Himesh Reshammiya [instead of regular Nadeem Shravan] and lyrics by Sameer, 'Aap Ki Khatir' is touted as a cool date flick with loads of fun, romance, tears, emotions and drama and releases on August 25th all over.
