 Rajiv and Sanjana meet, fall in love. But welcome to worry-land. Their union cannot materialize because of hurdles galore.
And who are these hurdles? Well, Sanjana is the apple-of-the eye sister of Majnoobhai and Uday Shetty and Rajiv is the nephew of Dr Ghungroo. Well, so what?
Well, so this: Majnoobhai and Uday Shetty are gangsters. They are the Mob. Majnoo is so soft hearted his passion is painting canvasses. Uday Shetty is known for his silver tongue crocodile tears.
They have one mission in life: getting a nice, non-criminal hubby for his sister. The two interview countless boys, but all get terrified and run away after knowing who their probable bride is.
And who is Dr Ghungroo? Well, he is a respected doctor who wants a girl from an impeccable background as bride for his nephew Rajiv.
 Welcome also a cunning matchmaker, the pundit who hides the truths about both parties. Dr Ghungroo, Uday and Majnoobhai are ecstatic about the match. Till Uncle dear learns about who his son’s future in-laws are.
Uday and Majnoo still have a lesson to learn in life, and they do get it - for no fear of death can make Dr Ghungroo agree to the marriage.
In this mess, welcome the sensuous and mysterious Ishika. She claims to be Rajiv’s childhood bride. But soon she becomes the future dreamboat of both Uday and Majnu in a deadly love triangle. Welcome in this mayhem also RDX, a stylish gangster who is as explosive as his name. Now who are these two?
So will the lovebirds ever get married? And will the mob ever be the same again?
So, as the year ends and the Christmas vacations begin, welcome to the funniest yet deadly wedding of the year – Base Industries Group’s Welcome. The mafia was never funnier.
Produced by Firoz Nadiadwala with funfests like Hera Pheri, Awara Pagal Deewana and Phir Hera Pheri behind him, the film, said to be inspired by the Hollywood laugh-riot Mickey Blue Eyes is co-written (with Rajiv Kaul and Praful Parekh) and directed by Anees Bazmee, the man who gave us Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Deewangee and No Entry. Himesh Reshammiya, Anand Raj Anand and Sajid-Wajid score music. The cinematography is by Sanjay F.Gupta.
The film’s cast is headed by Feroz Khan (as RDX) and Anil Kapoor (as Majnoobhai) who come together 21 years after Janbaaz. Nana Patekar plays Uday Shetty. Dr Ghungroo is Paresh Rawal and Ishika is portrayed by Mallika Sherawat.
Finally the lovebirds Rajiv and Sanjana are played by Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, coming together yet again after Humko Deewana Kar Gaye and the hit Namastey London.
