'Katha Parayumpol' becomes 'Kuchelan'

The celebrated hit of the year 'Katha Parayumpol' will now be remade into Tamil in the title 'Kuchelan'.

It is going to be Rajinikanth's next film, directed by veteran P Vasu. The mega star will take on Mammootty's role in the remake while Pashupathy will appear in the role that Sreenivasan has done in the original. 

Simran will make a great come back playing the wife of the Barber, which was done by Meena in the original.

The new movie, which will be remade with suitable changes for the Tamil audiences will be co produced by Seven Arts and K Balachander's Kavithalaya. 

Sreenivasan was recently in Chennai to show the original movie to Rajinikanth, his friend and senior at  Adyar film Institute, where they studied together.

Rajini , who instantly got the pulse of the movie  agreed to be in it. The film will be made as a quickie before Rajni's mega project with Shankar, 'Robot'.
