Karan Johar's shortest film - Student Of The Year

IndiaGlitz [Friday, August 31, 2012]

The happening filmmaker of B-town Karan Johar is back to his director's chair with 'Student Of The Year' (SOTY).

While this will be the first time, that the director-producer will be working with fresh actors, this will also be the first time where his film will have short running time.

Yes, compared to his earlier directorial films, SOTY will be the shortest of them all - that is, it will be little over than two hours. When it's Karan Johar, one can only think of those mushy romantic movies and dramatic family sagas which were over three hours.

'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' is KJo's lengthiest film that was 215 minutes long, 'My Name Is Khan' according to him is considered till now the shortest with165 minutes.

While 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' (211 mins) and 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' (185 mins) could be better kept off the list for its extravagant storyline.

Coming back to SOTY... Karan is said to be following today's trend, of keeping one's film short.

While most of his productions were directed by freshers with shorter durations, he apparently found it difficult to follow the same time-length for his own directorial.
