Senior film scribe, columnist and analyst Pasupuleti Rama Rao wrote the book 'Venditera Vishada Ragalu' (Meaning Silver Screen Ballads) portraying the lives and sorrows of yesteryear legends whose careers were filled with glory but lives with vacuum. The book was launched at an event in Film Chamber hall on Monday with ace director Dasari Narayana Rao, ace producer KS Rama Rao, hero Gopichand doing the honors. The event was graced by the presence of Relangi, Prasanna Kumar, Allani Sreedhar, Srikanth (Soviet Land magazine's Telugu Editor), Bheemineni and Suresh Kondeti.
Dasari said 'I know Rama Rao for over four decades and his dedication to detail. He has seen several lives of the yesteryear stars from very close quarters. We all know how legends like Savithri, Padmanabham etc have suffered due to poverty in their twilight years. Yesteryears actors lived with, in and for their on screen roles. Stars these years are superficial. These books will help them know the depths of acting'
Writer Pasupuleti Rama Rao said 'I know all the stars I have enlisted in the book very personally and thatís why I could mention a lot about them in the book. Pulagam Chinnarayana suggested the title and I thank him for the same. I also thank all the friends who helped me finish the book in time'
KS Rama Rao said 'I and Pasupuleti Rama Rao started our careers almost at the same time. After all these years, watching him now, I tend to admit that I have a thing to learn from him, that is, to work hard. This book will have all the ingredients of a beautiful journey into past. I also request him tow rite a book on the Producers'sorrows'
Paruchuri Gopala Krishna said 'Film stars have an image of spending lavish social lives. This book portrays the dark sides of their lives. I congratulate the writer'
