Gopika's sister Klini is to debut opposite Ajit in the film directed by Bala. Many directors had approached Klini to act in their films. She was offered the heroine role in Sukkran opposite Ravikrishna and later opposite Prasanth in Chakkarai directed by Susi Ganesan but all these was turned down. She is currently studying for Plus Two. Now Bala invitation has been given the green signal.

Gopika( real name Karli) who is acting opposite Simbhu in thotti Jaya has been signed for Ponniyin Selvan. She stars opposite Ravikrishna. The film is directed by Radha Mohan of Azhagiye theye. Jothikrishna who saw Radha Mohan's film was so impressed that he asked his dad to sign up the director for a film with Ravikrishna.

Ponniyin selvan is the famous novel by Kalki. This novel was first taken up MGR tomake it into a film and entrusted Mahendran to write the screenplay. It was then dropped. Later it was taken up by Kamalhassan but it was again shelved. Two producers tried to produce a TV serial based on this novel but that too was shelved. However the good news is that the Radha Mohan film has nothing to do with the novel.
