For looking glamorous it is not just costume of skin tight or pin up ones important says the pleasant and beautiful looking actress Laya. She is the hat trick winner of Nandi awards for her touching and pensive roles. Laya speaking to journalists at Hampi said the Saree and Churidhar also give a lift to the physical and facial looks. I rarely wear jeans and T shirts on screen and my personal life. The stamping I have got in four languages is the serene and sensitive heroine on silver screen. I enjoy this very much says Laya.
In the nearly 40 films I have done most of them are serious and sentimental. A few films are comedy ones. Perhaps doing more sentiment roles I have acquired lot of sympathy. This has happened especially after my 5 th film Manoharam. For longevity in career one has to do family oriented roles I firmly believe and not the touch and go glamour roles says very beautiful Laya who was in the attire of a queen on the sets of 'Gandugali Kumarama'.
She plays one of the main heroines for Shivrajkumar – the role of Ramale daughter of a minister in 'GGKR'. I don't the name of minister for whom I play daughter role. This role is interesting for me because I have not done any historical film of this magnitude. This is my 3 rd Kannada film. Earlier I played heroine to Shivrajkumar in 'Madhuve Aagona Baa' and then second part heroine to his brother Puneeth Rajkumar in 'Veera Kannadiga.
The post lunch chat with Laya at Hampi had to be called off as the news of Dr.Rajkumar death reached the media persons. Laya immediately stood up and became emotional with the news.
