Four days of hectic shooting was held for a short film 'Prarambha' on 'AIDS awareness' in Kannada at Mysore. Bill Gates and Millenda Foundation producing this social awareness short film. In Hindi, Tamil and Kannada this thought provoking short film is made to bring awareness on HIV AIDS. Meera Nair, Vishal Bharadwaj, Santosh Shivan and Dr.Kamal Hassan are the key persons behind making in different languages. The Kannada version of 12 minutes short film shooting is held at city of palaces - Mysore.
Santosh Shivan is directing this short film and he is also behind the camera. Dayal of Kannada films like Ba Baro Rasika, Sakha Sakhi, Yeshwanth is casting director of Kannada version.
This short film 'Prarambha' will be shown in all the channels and cinema halls. The government of India has made a ruling to this effect.
On all four days of shoot Master Skanda has been darling on the sets. He is found in a truck as the teachers do not admit him to the school. That is because one of his family members is affected with HIV. Popular Tamil actor and director Prabhudeva (dancing wonder) who plays the truck driver role takes the kid to the school where he meets Dr.B.Saroja Devi the head madam of the school. This portion was shot at Urs Boarding school recently. M.S.Ramesh and Rajasekhar have penned the dialogues, Umesh is the costume designer. Giridhar Diwan is the music director. The shooting was also held in Srirangapattana and Mysore city.
Skanda the cute little kid studying in UKG in Bangalore is the product of Bimba School of Art, Hanumanthanagara. He has received applaud from everyone on the sets at Mysore. Skanda at this age of five years is bubbly. He does painting, mime and he is a dancer.
Actress Ramya plays sex worker, Prabhu Deva the truck driver, actress Jayanthi, Anu Prabhakar, Sadhu Kokila, Jai Jagdeesh and editor of Hai Bangalore Ravi Belegere are also in the cast of this meaningful and thought provoking short film 'Prarambha'.
