One of the eminent directors of this country Girish Kasaravalli thanked the luck that supported him for 'Gulabi Talkies'. Even before the release of the film it had won two awards at Osian's Cine Fan International film festival recently and the support he got from producer, people of three villages Madikal, Kodiki and Tharapathi contributed in making the film he said. I have avoided things to look beautiful on screen in this film and it is shot in 16mm. The result is fine. The involvement of actress Umasri was superb and people watching the film at Osian's festival believed that Umasri is from the fisherman community. Girish opined that in the days of manufacturing of opinion in the media he wanted everything to look raw in 'Gulabi Talkies'.

This type of off beat film should get a prime theatre for release opined actress Umasri who won the best actress at the Osian's international festival and urged Dr.Jayamala KFCC President sitting next to her to make way for the cinema release. In my career as an actress from 1980 via 'Pattanakke Bandha Pathniyaru' I have been director's actor. I know only 'Yes Boss and OK Boss' in my career of 350 films said the humble Umasri at the get together party at Basanth Residency in Gandhinagar.

Dr.Jayamala immediately reacted that she is ready to allocate a theatre in her capacity as head of Apex Body of Kannada film industry. The leading lady also expressed that when she made 'Thai Saheba' in the direction of Girish Kasaravalli she only bagged the special jury award at the national level but not the international festival award money like what Umasri had got for 'Gulabi Talkies'.

Producer of 'Gulabi Talkies' Basanth Kumar Patil is content with the second film production in the direction of Girish Kasaravalli. His earlier film 'Naayi Neralu' earned good name for his banner and now 'Gulabi Talkies' fetched award money of Rs.20 lakhs besides Rs.2 lakh award for best actress Umasri. In the happy mood Basanth Kumar Patil announced his third film a children film in the direction of Girish Kasaravalli. Meanwhile Girish Kasaravalli's wife Smt.Vaishali Kasaravalli is directed television serial 'Muthina Thorana' for Basanth Productions.

On this occasion both Umasri and Dr.Jayamala were felicitated by Basanth Productions. Cameraman S.Ramachandra was also present on the dais.
