This year's 'Varamahalakshmi Day' two Kannada films are releasing on August 15 that also happens to be the Independence Day. Challenging star Darshan's 'Arjun' produced by Jayanna films – Jayanna, Bogendra, Smt.Shashikala Narendranath and Mohankumar is a big budget cinema. The songs of 'Arjun' scored by V.Harikrishna have done wonderful business in the audio market. 'Arjun' is showing 250 shows a day all over Karnataka.

Shot in Germany, Austria, Bangkok, Mysore, Bangalore and Dhanushkoti challenging star Darshan has four rabble rousers – Suman, Ajay, Amith and Sharat Lohitashva. Darshan plays the cop once again on Kannada screen. He has Meera Chopra as counterpart and Ananthnag plays the father role for him. Avinash, Satyajith, Bullet Prakash, Ashok Rao, Saikrishna, Mohan Juneja, Shailaja Joshi, Sanjana, Urvashi are also in the cast.

Another film releasing on this Friday 'Anthu Inthu Preethi Banthu' a remake of super hit Telugu film 'Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule' by Aditya Arts is starring Aditya Babu and charming Ramya. Directed by Veera Shanker the film has Gurukiran music. H.C.Venu is the cameraman.

In the supporting cast are Srinivasamurthy, Lokanath, Harish Raj, Rangayana Raghu, Chitra Shenoy, Malathi Sardeshpande and Mandya Ramesh. M.S.Ramesh and Rajasekhar have penned the dialogues.
