The super hit director R. Chandru of ‘Taj Mahal’ is now feeling highly comfortable with the approval of Hindi title ‘Prem Kahani’ for a Kannada film. R. Chandru was in doldrums when the KFCC disagreed to permit the title ‘Prem Kahani’ as he had completed the film shooting and taken up the publicity of his film. He submitted another letter pleading that the film ‘Prem Kahani’ is produced by newcomers KM Vishwanath and G. Ravikumar. The KFCC in the recently held meeting also looking at the flop of Kannada films showed soft corner to ‘Prem Kahani’ title. As a matter of fact non Kannada language titles cannot be registered is the KFCC verdict.

Director Chandru shot for 65 days of the film ‘Prem Kahani’ that has musical scores from maestro Illayaraja. Only one song is shot in Madikeri, Srirangapatna surroundings and maximum of film shooting was done in Rajajinagar says Chandru who is keeping high hopes on his second directorial venture.

This is the first Kannada film to shoot in Super 35 MM camera and DI for the film will be done at Prime Focus in Hyderabad. The budget of the film ‘Prem Kahani’ starring Ajay and Sheela touched Rs.5 crores and the buyers have already come for the film and at this stage the film is sold it would give two times the investment says Chandru.

The film ‘Prem Kahani’ is all set for release in July first week. Chandrasekhar is the cameraman. KM Prakash has edited the film and Ravi Verma has handled the stunts. Hosmane Murthy art direction, dance direction by Ramu, Madan Harini, Raghu, Imran and Harsha is another highlight of the film. K Kalyan, Dr.Nagendra Prasad and Kaviran have penned the songs. In the supporting cast are Rangayana Raghu, Rajesh, Sudha Belawadi, Lokanath, Mico Nagaraj, Tennis Krishna and others.
