The prolific writer, firebrand journalist (he runs a tabloid called ‘Agni’ in Kannada) Agni Sridhar giving room for two intelligent youths K.M.Chaitanya in ‘Aa Dinagalu’ and Miss Sumana Kittur in ‘Slum Bala’ and ‘Kallara Santhe’ to direct is appearing himself in the avatar of director from ‘Thamassu’ (meaning darkness, murkiness, ignorance and nescience). Agni Sridhar is directing the film besides writing story, screenplay and dialogues for ‘Thamassu’ starring hat trick hero Shivarajakumar and Mallu girl Padmapriya in the lead roles.

The inspiration for Agni Sridhar for ‘Thamassu’ is the incident happened at the time Gujarat riot. In a Muslim family a Hindu comes to live with ulterior motives to finally repent for his thoughts. The present movements and strikes are not pro development and even the religious leaders are having ulterior motives Agni Sridhar is emphasizing in his film.

Hat trick hero Shivarajakumar feels the role is a mixture of anger for apathy and filled with peace as the constituents. I am an egoist and as a cop I have my own sentiments too. The narration of story made to him inspired to take up this film. There is definiteness in the thoughts of Agni Sridhar is what Shivarajakumar has noticed.

Padmapriya the famous Malayalam film actress in her debut Kannada film says the presentation of the film will be good and Shviarajakumar role is very complex one. Jai Jagdish plays the commissioner, Sharat Lohitashva is the terrorist in this film, Asif is also in an important role.

Sandeep Chowta scores the music and Sundarnath Suvarana is the cameraman. The entire film will be shot in Bangalore. Nazar, Harshika, Sudha Belawadi, Sathya are also in the cast.

Veteran director Huli Chandrasekhar and Ravi are assisting Agni Sridhar in direction. Syed Amar and MS Ravindra are the producers of this film.
