In the first stage the Kannada cinema industry collected Rs.60 lakhs towards the Flood Relief of Northern Karnataka and presented it to the chief minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa at Banquent Hall Vidhana Soudha at the Dr.Rajakumar Postal Stamp release on November 1.
Smt.Parvathamma Rajakumar on dais joined Dr Jayamala, KFCC President, Rockline Venkatesh, Ashok, Thomas D Souza and Sa.Ra.Govindu at the time of presentation of the cheque of Rs.60 lakhs to Karnataka Chief Minister. This is besides the individual supports extended by bigwigs of the Kannada film industry people. Dr.Jayamala said the Kannada cinema Industry is still collecting money and other necessities to support the victims.
At the same function the Bangalore Development Authority handed over cheque of Rs.50 crores towards the Flood Relief of Northern Karnataka people.
The Karnataka chief minister receiving the cheque donated by BDA and KFCC in his speech said nearly 5 lakh house has to come up for the people of Karnataka. It has to be performed with joint effort without mixing the politics he said. He urged the minister of state for Railways KH Muniyappa and Rehman Khan deputy speaker of Rajya Sabha to join hands in helping the affected people.
