It was a kind of saying big thanks to the film industry for all the entertainment it provided last year. For, the Film Fans’ Association honoured several artistes and technicians as part of the 58th annual awards ceremony in Chennai Sunday.

Senior actress G Jaya Chitra presented the ‘Cine Bests of 2008’ awards. The best director award was bagged by K S Ravikumar for the movie ‘Dasavatharam,’ the best actor award went to Vinay (‘Jayam Kondaan’) and the supporting actor award to Pasupathy (‘Kuselan’).

"It was a great honour to be honoured by fans. They are the one who are behind the successful running of films. The entire industry is working for them and I am proud to receive the award," Ravikumar said.

Expressing gratitude, Pasupathy said, "all credits should go to the entire cast and crew of 'Kuselan'." In a similar vein, Vinay said, "I am happy that I have been selected for the coveted honour."

Industrialist Nalli Kuppuswami Chetty received the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award. He released a souvenir that was received by Jaya Chitra. The annual TV award was presented to Chethan of 'Athipookal' and to several others.
