Prof KS Nissar Ahmed the household name in Karnataka from his literary work and another household name for his upright work Lok Ayuktha chief Santosh Hegde honored the five award winners from Karnataka - Dr Girish Kasaravalli, Gopalakrishna Pai who won the best screenplay for 'Kanasemba Kudureya Benneri', Basanthkumar Patil for bagging the best regional cinema 'Kanasemba Kudureya Benneri' , P Ramachandra producer and director of best children film 'Putani Party', Arundhathi Nag who received the best supporting actress award for her performance in 'Paa' Hindi film and writer K Putswamy who got the national award for his book 'Cinemayana' and publisher of it.
Prof Nissar Ahmed known for witty address recalled his olden day's friends who were sitting in Badami House - Ramachandra, MS Sathyu, Subba Rao and others in his address. Girish Kasaravalli is a touch stone personality he opined.
Arundhathi Nag, the recent Padmasri award winner for her over three decades of service to theatre said she had not done anything big to receive the award for 'Paa'. "For stage actors like me it was learning experience from Amitabh Bachchan", she informed.
MS Sathyu, Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar, Rekha Rao, Chitra Samooha members and others were present at the felicitation evening.
Justice Santosh Hegde and Prof Nissan Ahmed were presented the 'Cinemayana' book that won the national award written by K Putswamy.
