The prominent Kannada film actress Smt Vaishali Kasaravalli wife of state, national and international acclaim director Dr Girish Kasaravalli passed away on Monday evening at 5.15 pm at private hospital in Jayanagar 9th block near Ragi Gudda in Bangalore.
According to Vaishali Kasaravalli's wish her eyes were donated around 8 pm in the night on Monday and the body of Vaishali was brought to her residence 'Drushya' in JP Nagar. The body of Vaishali will be kept for public homage at Samsa Rangamandira behind Ravindra Kalakshetra on Tuesday 12 to 3 pm and later final rites will be conducted by her son Apoorva.
Dr Girish Kasaravalli the four times Swarana Kamal award winner was looking very grim with the loss of his wife. Ananya Kasaravalli, actress and creative thinker daughter and son Apoorva were inconsolable.
Smt Vaishali Kasaravalli was suffering from diabetes and kidney ailment for a long time. The multifaceted actress, television director and national award costume designer for 'Thai Saheba' in 1998, Vaishali bagged state award for her husband directorial venture 'Akramana' and got the state best supporting actress for 'Palitamsha' Kannada cinema. She is the winner of Rajyotsava award and many other accolades.
Born on April 12, 1952 Vaishali Kasaravalli admiration to theatre started at the age of 12. She was in the Gubbi Company in Gulbarga for a short time and later took interest in many of the stage places like Yayavadhana, Jokumaraswamy, Mid Summer Nights Dream, Dangeya Munchina Dinagalu, Naneno Helabeku, Ellaru Nammavare before making a leap in to debut in Kannada cinema in 'Professor Huchchuraya' in 1974.
Vaishali Kasaravalli's popular films are Akramana, Yarigu Helbedi, Kittu Puttu, Angaialli Apsare, Kraurya, Hombisilu, Swamy, Thabarana Kathe, Ksheera Sagara, Anukolakkoba Ganda, Asegoba Meesegobba, Mooru Daarigalu, Mahadasoshi Sharana Basava, Chandramuki Pranasaki, Panjarada Gili, Hoovondhu Beku Ballige, Vigneswarana Vahana, Shanker Guru, Palitamsha, Parivarthana, Sparsha, Nigatha, Akramana, Ganeshana Madhuve, Gowri Ganesha, Thavarumane Udugore, No 73 Shanthinivasa and others.
In small screen Vaishali acted in Namma Nammalli, Kasa Musure Saroja, Malgudi Days, Kshamaya Daritri, Maaya Mruga, Manvanthara, Sadhane and others. The biggies she directed for small screen are Moodala Mane and Muthina Thorana.
Vaishali Kasaravalli was costume designer for her husband Dr Girish Kasaravalli films such as Bannada Vsha, Mane, Kubi Mathu Iyyala, Kraurya, Thai Saheba (won national award in 1998), Dweepa and the recent one Kanasembo Kudureya Benneri.
