The famous theater personality from border of Karnataka and Kerala - Kasargod Chinna's maiden direction in Konkani language 'Ujwadu' has been cleared by the Regional Censor Board and granted U certificate. Now U means Ujwadu also.

The film attempts to showcase the Konkani Saraswatha tradition and culture in the film and it is also for the first time on the living of Konkani speaking people. The audio of this film slated for August 29 at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall says KJ Dhananjaya and Anuradha Padiyar producers of Mithra Media.

Kannada actors Shivadwaj, Neethu, Sadashiva Brhamavar, Umasri, Om Ganesh plus leading lady of Manipal Group Editor of Tharanga weekly Smt Sandhya Pai and leading advocate and political personality Pramila Nesargi are in the cast of this film. National award winning writer Gopalakrishna Pai has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues.

The film 'Ujwadu' boasts of nearly 40 artists and technicians in it. Utpal Nayanar is the cameraman, century films music director V Manohar has done the film. National fame Suresh Urs is the editor.

The big name in the Kannada film lyrics Jayanth Kaikini has penned two Konkani songs for the first time. Famous Harikatha Vidwan Bhadragiri Achyuth Das poem has been used for this film. Puttur Narasimha Naik, Shanker Shanbog, Seema Raikar are the singers for 'Ujwadu'.
